Fish glue is a traditional woodworking glue with a strong bond that dries crystal-hard like hide glue.

High tack and long working time

Fish glue is tacky when wet, not slippery. This helps to hold parts in place whilst you clamp or apply rubber bands. The long 30-minute working time is convenient, too. Cure time: 12 hours.

No mixing, no heating

Fish Glue is able to use right out of the bottle at room temperature. No mixing or heating needed.

Reactivates with water

Water reactivates dried fish glue, making the joint tacky again for reworking.

Storage tip

To get essentially the most out of your glue, repairman Flip Scipio recommends keeping a main bottle stored within the fridge, and transferring to a smaller dispenser bottle as needed.

“Fish Glue usually has a shelf life of about one year. Refrigeration will lend a hand to extend the shelf life. The cold will cause the glue to thicken, so it’s going to need to take a seat at room temperature for about an hour before it returns to normal viscosity.”
