R&F Encaustic White Beeswax 1-pounds has been decolorized by mechanical filtration, making it less reactive to pigments than chemical bleaching. The wax comes granulated, making it easier to measure and melt. You’ll be able to use Beeswax as the prime ingredient, along side damar resin, for making your own encaustic medium. You’ll be able to also use it without resin, however the surface might be less hard, less polishable, more dust-attractive and have a lower melting temperature. White Beeswax may also be used to give an initial priming coat on your panel or paper for encaustic.
