Description

Lead Block is a water-based elastomeric acrylic lead encapsulating paint, with excellent adhesion, elongation, and tensile strength characteristics. When applied to surfaces bearing lead-containing paint, this product will seal in the lead paint with a thick coating. This water-based, elastomeric coating, is formulated to encapsulate lead-based paints and forms a dense, high-solids barrier that blocks and seals to prevent the migration of lead contaminants from reaching the surface. It incorporates Bitrex, a bitter tasting, anti-ingest ant, which deters children from oral contact when painting over lead paint. Lead Block paint is also applied to interior walls, trim and ceilings, or properly prepared drywall, plaster, wood, masonry or metal surfaces as a substitute for expensive lead paint remediation. On exterior surfaces, this product is also applied to vertical surfaces, including properly prepared masonry, stucco, wood, or metal substrates.
