Description

LBC III is a lead barrier compound that encapsulates lead-based paint to offer protection from the toxic metal. The sealer can also be applied to existing buildings and surfaces, helping to retain architectural or historical details. This heavy-duty liquid paint can be utilized both indoors and outdoors. Plus, LBC III meets and surpasses the ASTM E-1795 standard for lead-based paint encapsulants and is protected for use in all 50 states, UL Classified, and Class A fire-rated. We’ve designed LBC III in antique white and white. Our white base is tintable up to 2 ounces of universal liquid colorant per gallon. Throughout application, first clean the surface with a wet mop and a vacuum with HEPA filter designed to capture hazardous waste materials. Make sure that the surface is free of dust, rust, grease, oil, mildew, glue, wax, soap, loose paint, or other contaminants that may impact the paint seal or adhesion. We recommend that you repair irregularities in surfaces with patching compounds. If the surface has a high gloss, use a coarse scouring pad or liquid de-glossing agents to take away gloss as necessary. Mix our formula thoroughly, preferably with an electric drill-mounted device that’s designed for blending liquid coatings. Mix until all clear liquid has been fully incorporated. Then apply LBC III with a brush, roller, or airless spray equipment onto the surface. Most surfaces will not require primer. LBC III will have to only be applied when air and surface temperatures are above 45°F at time of application and for 12 hours thereafter. The coat will have to be 14 wet mils in an effort to achieve the required film thickness minimum of 7 dry mils. Clean all tools and drippings with warm soapy water before LBC dries. Use a HEPA-approved vacuum specifically designed to collect any hazardous dust or waste generated. Dispose of all waste according to all current local, state, and federal regulations.
