Enkaustikos Wax Paint – Mars Terracotta…Pigment Color Index name PR101Mars Terracotta is a deep dense opaque orange earth color between orange and brown. Terracotta means baked earth.Our encaustic colors are handmade from the finest ingredients: Enkaustikos selects essentially the most beautiful pigments the finest No. 1 Singapore Damar Resin and United States Pharmaceutical Grade (USP) Refined Natural Beeswax. Inspired by Old Holland Oil Colors we push our paints to the limits. You’re going to find that our colors are very heavily pigmented. The swatch shown here is the pure color brushed over white watercolor paper. This shows the intense color strength and the texture that may be achieved with encaustic. We used certainly one of our hot brush attachments to apply the paint. Our wax paints are sold in 1 fluid ounce disks which measure approximately 2 inch diameter and are 1/2 inch thick. If you are going to buy 16 fl ounces You’re going to receive 16 disks which can be quicker to melt and much easier for dispensing in the study room or workshops. We provide a range of sizes from 1 fluid ounce to 16 fluid ounce. We advise heating our wax paints between 150 and 175 degrees F to prevent burning and to provide optimum working characteristics.
